A Rare Opportunity to Join a Unique North Pole Expedition – Final Places Remaining

I’m pleased to share a very special last minute opportunity to participate in a unique voyage to the Geographic North Pole with Ponant Exploration, departing 22nd July 2025, aboard Le Commandant Charcot - the world’s only hybrid icebreaker.

This voyage has particular historical significance. On board will be members of the families of Neil Armstrong and Sir Edmund Hillary, retracing a little-known journey made by Armstrong, Hillary, and Steve Fossett in 1985. Their expedition—privately organised and intentionally kept out of the spotlight at Armstrong’s request—remains one of the lesser-known stories in the history of exploration.

To mark its 40th anniversary, a documentary film will be produced onboard during the voyage. Guests will have the opportunity to view rare or previously unseen material from the original trip, and there are plans for informal talks with the families and the Icelandic film team involved in the project.

Reaching 90° North remains one of the great milestones in polar exploration. This journey offers a meaningful way to engage with that legacy—through landscape, memory, and story.

There are just a few staterooms still available.
