We're "In Conversation" with UKAHT

We recently sat down with the UK Antarctic Heritage Trust to talk about 'Midnight Sun', our new collaborative photography book - and the conversation went far beyond the usual book-launch chat.

We talk about what the title really means (the sun that never sets, and the strange, sleepless rhythm of shooting under a sky that never signals "stop"), how our very different eyes for a scene ended up making us better collaborators rather than competitors, and the images that have come to mean the most to us on this project. We also get into why we believe photography's real job isn't just to show people these places, but to make them feel something about them.
There's a bit of fun in there too: our idea of a luxury item at Port Lockroy for a season, and a full, unapologetic defence of our favourite penguin species each (spoiler: we don't agree).
It's a longer, more personal read than most of what we share here. Have a read of the full interview on the UKAHT site:
And if it leaves you wanting more, we hope to see you at the Midnight Sun launch and exhibition where we will be interviewed by Sir Michael Palin at the Royal Geographical Society this October - tickets here.
