Last night, RRS Discovery Dundee came alive with a packed house for an evening of storytelling, exploration, and inspiration. The Explorers Club GB & Ireland and The Polar Academy stage was shared by an inspiring lineup:
The Academy’s Abbie and Jamie, whose talks brimmed with transformation and discovery; Douglas Anderson’s witty tales of exploring Greenland with a young family - a place he now calls home - for at least part of the year. Also @sarah.polar.art whose beautiful artwork brings the polar regions vividly to life, followed by my talk about my work and career in the cold.
It was a privilege catch up with Craig and Lorna from The Polar Academy and to meet Rory Golden, Chair of The Explorers Club GB & Ireland Chapter— truly a force for bringing adventurers together.
From the youthful ambition of The Polar Academy’s young explorers to the shared commitment to documenting and protecting our fragile world, the evening was a testament to the continuing spirit of exploration.
To everyone who attended, shared stories, and celebrated the wonders of the Arctic: thank you for making this night unforgettable. Here’s to more adventures and stories yet to come!
